Tears keep rolling
And there is nothing I can do
to keep them contained.
Talk of the past brings up memories
feelings and thoughts I prefer to keep buried...
My heart is safer in it's cage.
In a cage it can't be poked or prodded
It can't be examined, then tossed aside
to be left, broken and shattered, on the floor.
With a heart in a cage
There are no tears to roll.

So sorry you are hurting.
It is better to process hurt than to bury it, because it always seems to come out eventually in some odd way whether you want it to or not.
I hope your posting this entry will help you deal with the hurt so you can get it out of the way faster.
You know, if you lock up your heart, you may immunize yourself from some sadness, but you will also avoid a measure of happiness at the same time.
Take care, and don't forget to live life.
Peace,
J.B.
Dear Kit, let those healing words you write roll towards us and your tears will roll on and on and away.
Kit - This is really beautiful in its sad sort of way.
But a caged heart has no chance to see ANYTHING - including joy.
In order to know happiness, we have to know heartache.
I hope your writing helps you to feel better, sooner. Nicole
